In a move that mimics Procter & Gamble’s latest ad campaign for its Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler with Musician André 3000 Benjamin, Actor Gael García Bernal and Actor Adrien Brody, the Hunger Games movie franchise has released “ads” touting beauty products using the movies’ Capitol stars, such as Seneca Crane modeling his precision-styled beard. The unique beard was an internet hit as soon as the first trailer appeared late last year. While it is likely that these “ads” are just promotion on the film, one never knows. They could catch fire. As reported in the latest issue of Beauty Packaging,Lion’s Gate has released a Capitol Colors nail polish line related to the movie with China Glaze, and it has received press for the butterfly eye lashes character Effie Trinket wears in the movie. (The faux eyelashes can be purchased at Sephora.) The other movie related beauty ads that hit the internet recently include one for gold “liquid skyliner” that stylist Cinna wears, and Smile Away toothpaste promoted by Caesar Flickerman. If you haven’t got Hunger Games fever yet, check out the trailers here and see what all the buzz is about.
